To apply for the AG Class there is an application form and a test.  The results from your test and application will be collated and reviewed by the AG Class Committee and the successful candidates will be selected and notified following the timeline. 

 

How to apply

All paperwork is available here and at your home school as well as Moss Vale Public School. The include a permission note as well as an application form. There is a small cost to administer the test and previous students have the option to resit or reactivate their past scores.

 

The application form includes a comment from their current classroom teacher and so many schools request that it is returned to them prior to the final submission date. This allows time for the classroom teacher to complete their section. Each school may differ in their closing date for application process based how much time they feel is necessary for teachers to complete their sections but it is generally by the end of Term 3.

Testing

The test is a multiple choice test and takes approximately 1 hour to complete. There is no way of preparing for the test other than a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast in the morning. 

 

Cost

There is some cost associated with the test materials (not reusable) and administration of applications. There are 2 options for families.

 

1st time applicants

$20  to sit the test

 

2nd time applicants

If you have already sat the test in the previous year, you have 2 options

1. Reactivate your previous year’s test score - free

2. Resit the test - $20

 

If you choose the resit the test, your best result,  regardless of the year that it was achieved in, will be put forward to the AG Committee with your application. It is recommended that children resit the test to put themselves in the strongest position to a gain a place in the class.

 

There are two ways to submit your application and payment

2. Directly to Moss Vale Public School

Previous students

There is NO automatic entry into the class. Children in the current class must complete a new application form if they wish to be a student in the class the coming year.
