Wonder is an incredible book and is full of exciting ups and downs. Wonder is about a boy named Auggie. Auggie does normal things, he eats ice-cream, he plays outside, he likes Star Wars and plays Xbox, but he is far from an ordinary boy. He has a major face disorder that has led to him being avoided by most of the people in the neighbourhood. Soon he is told that he has to start middle school and is now about to face the biggest challenge of his life. In middle school, there is one boy, Julian, who especially dislikes him, and isn’t afraid to show it. Will Auggie be able to make it through middle school?
This book is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Even though it doesn’t feel as fast-paced or intense as most action or adventure novels, it is still such a complex story. My favourite character in this book would have to be Jack Will, the boy who wants to be friends with Auggie. He was mostly there to support Auggie, but also had quite a detailed back story himself.
In my opinion, this is a fantastic book. I didn’t want to stop reading it. My favourite part of this book was how the story was told from the different perspectives of other characters, helping to change up the plot and hear their side of the story. The book also uses descriptive writing sparingly, so it can get on with the plot more and allow you to come to your own conclusions about the characters. I would suggest this book for people from the age of ten to the age of one hundred and ten. This book is such a great book and I suggest you read it.
