Fireshadow by Anthony Eaton

This book has two settings in it. One is in present day South Western Australia and the other is in WW2 Australia. In present day Australia, Vinnie Santiani is struggling to comprehend his sister's death and his parents anguish is certainly not helping either so in the cover of darkness he flees. He flees to the isolation of the bush. The second setting is in WW2 Australia. Erich Pieters is in a POW camp in South Western Australia. He has no idea what he is in for. He deals with a bushfire, a young, shifty guard and his own emotions and fears.

These two men's lives collide across the years, changing them both as they struggle to escape the pain and memory of fireshadow. This book really pulls you in. I found it really hard to put down. It really conveys emotion across and you can almost feel what the narrator is going through. I really liked this book and I wouldn't change a thing!

Genre - I think it might be Drama but I am not sure.

Age - 11-14

Anthony Eaton was born in 1972 in a town which later burned to the ground in a volcanic eruption. In 1997 he met Gary Crew (a young adults author) at a writer's workshop. He then decided to become an author. He spends time writing books and occasionally fishing. He has written two young adult books, The Darkness and A New Kind of Dreaming. I would give this book is a 10/10.
