Matilda - Roald Dahl

Matilda may look like the average 6 year old, but what goes on in her brain is extraordinary. She can calculate maths equations in an instant, whereas most others would hesitate to answer or would get a calculator. However, Matilda's parents don't realise how smart she is. In fact, they treat her as a scab that they just want to pick off and throw away. There is also the vile school Headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, who is out to crush Matilda’s spirit. Only Miss Honey, Matilda's most wonderful teacher, realises how brilliant the young girl is. Matilda has a few tricks up her sleeve too, but can she finally stand up to her nasty parents and her cruel headmistress?

I think this book is one of the best you could ever read. It has great illustrations and a fabulous storyline.

To say anything bad about this book is like saying that I hate chocolate (and I love chocolate)! There are absolutely no negatives to this book.

I wouldn't change anything about this book. It is magnificent and too perfect to ruin.

This book fits into the Fiction, Fantasy and Humour category. This book is not part of a series but it has been made into a movie and now a major musical production. I prefer the book to the movie as some parts of the movie are not true to the book.

This book was written by the famous Roald Dahl. He had over 40 books published. He was born in Llandaff, Wales, on the 13 September 1916. He was married and had five children named Olivia, Tessa, Theo, Ophelia and Lucy. Unfortunately, Olivia tragically died of the measles when she was seven. Roald Dahl also served as a fighter pilot in the Royal Air Force in World War 2.
