Nancy Drew has been invited to Arizona for a vacation by her friends George and Bess, but all of a sudden, instead of a vacation Nancy finds herself in the middle of another mystery. Can she find the key to the mysterious phantom horse of Dick Valentine and help find her friend’s kidnapped dad? Can she unravel the mystery of the shadow ranch and find the treasure Dick Valentine sent to his sweetheart?
I liked the events that led up to the finding of Valentine’s treasure and the capture of the phantom horse. I didn’t dislike anything in this book. It was perfect. If anything could be improved, more exciting events could have been added leading up to the finding of the treasure because the book is quite short and I read it very quickly. You would find this book in the adventure section. If you like this book the good news is that there are another sixty four in the series.
Mildred Augustine Wirt Benson wrote the Nancy Drew series under the pen name of Carolyn Keene. She was an American journalist and author of many children’s books. She contributed to 23 of 30 originally published Nancy Drew.
I would highly recommend this book because it isn’t really scary and there’s no violence but it is exciting. I score this 9/10.
